Search for creative and gifted children

Manifestation of creativity in the human personality is not the norm, this trait has its impact on human behavior and worldview, so creative, gifted and ingenious students fall into the category of students with deviations. They need a special attitude, special methods of work of both teachers and a practical psychologist.

The first stage is to identify creative and talented students.

Pupils come to vocational schools after receiving basic education in the 9th grade, ie mostly creatively gifted children have already been identified at school. Such students record their creative experience in questionnaires and questionnaires. But there is a category of children who, having certain inclinations, did not develop them and did not show themselves. Therefore, it is necessary to begin work with creative students with their identification and determination of the specifics of their talent - intellectual, artistic, musical-vocal, choreographic, poetic, organizational, sports, communicative or leadership.
These children can be distinguished from the general mass by complex methods.
There are methods for this - observation, questionnaires and psychological diagnosis. If with observation and questionnaires, when students are interviewed about their past experience, analysis of school performance and observation of leadership behavior in the student body, everything is quite clear, the psychological diagnosis is made using psychological tools. An example of this can be projective methods "Non-existent animal", "12 animals of Pashnev", which directly determines the student's personality and propensity to creativity; test "Determination of the level of creative thinking" and the method "Test for creativity of Torrance" to determine the level of creative imagination and thinking; methods of determining communication and organizational skills and IQ intelligence test will help to see a more detailed and detailed description of a creatively gifted child.
It should be noted that along with this, the student's self-esteem is studied, because low self-esteem hinders the development of personality traits, in addition, adequate self-esteem is a necessary condition for successful self-realization.
And of course the survey of teachers and their observations of students. When identifying athletically, vocally, choreographically and artistically gifted children, it is appropriate to look at the specific results of their activities.

The
Stage II - cooperation with teachers.

After identifying such students in each group of new students, a practical psychologist should convey this information to the teaching staff, choosing a convenient form of communication. At the same time it is necessary to increase the level of psychological knowledge of teachers regarding the peculiarities of mental development and behavior of this category of students. Problems they may face in the educational process: unregulated and affective emotional states, demonstrative behavior, self-doubt, high levels of demand or weak motivational sphere, inadequate self-esteem, aggression, loneliness and social isolation, or extraverted dependence on the opinion of others. Students with characterological problems are registered, after which the psychologist can already suggest specific ways to work with them.

The
Stage III - the development of inclinations.

Psychological and pedagogical support by a psychologist of creatively gifted children is to identify them by diagnosing and subsequent counseling on the possibilities of developing their talents both in school and in life, the psychologist constantly monitors the student's development, his successes and failures, stimulating self-development.
Work on the development of students' talents is carried out in areas, for example, if it is musical-vocal, choreographic, stage, artistic, poetic or intellectual talent, then students need to be involved in amateur art, participation in competitions, clubs and interest clubs. The deposit must be practically developed. If a child has abilities, feels them, but does not develop and does not show them, sooner or later it will lead to a crisis that manifests itself in behavior - depressive or destructive. All teenagers want recognition and attention from peers and seniors and you can get it by a simple demonstration of their skills.
If there is a situation that the institution does not have a specialist, the student should be consulted and sent to an institution where there is an opportunity to narrowly develop his talent, such as art school, music school, house of culture, or a library where a club of young writers can operate. .
